Seaweeds
This product is a very easy-to-handle seaweed flake. The small dry flakes, when allowed to absorb water, expand about 8 fold. Its content of potassium is relatively high but nitrogen and phosphorus are very low. The N:P:K is 1.0:0.5:18.0. It contains 16 separate micro-elements, 17 amino acids, 4 vitamins, some cytokinins (growth-promoting plant hormones) and carbohydrates. Dried Seaweed can be used for improving all soils and composts. Our pack will treat about 100 square metres of turf or about 2½ cubic metres of compost. For planting out young trees, mix about 400g of dried seaweed into the soil used in the planting hole.

Our Soluble Seaweed powder contains extracts from three different types of seaweed – sargassum, ascophyllum nodosum and laminaria. Sargassum is rich in alginic acid and in cytokinins. Alginic acid gives improved water retention whereas cytokins are growth hormones. Laminaria contains a good proportion of a compound called laminaria polysaccharide. This ingredient is an anti-viral compound. Ascophyllum nodosum has a high content of minerals. It contains over 80 different trace elements and can be added to growing media or used as a foliar treatment or seed soak
